Routesetting for twenty years, Ward is currently the Director of Routesetting for Earth Treks Climbing & Fitness.  He oversees all routesetting operations at their five soon to be seven locations.

   Earth Treks has a legacy of great routesetting and of valuing how thoughtful routesetting can impact a community.   With a heavy emphasis on aesthetics Ward uses his BFA in design to create routes that are a reflection of the community they’re set for.   He believes routesetting is a product produced for a specific end user with consideration for the environment.  This approach to routesetting as a form of product design leads Earth Treks to set with empathy for the people that interact with their creations.
